My father passed away in February and left my brother and I with a cat. We already have a couple of cats in the house and this cat is simply not a good fit for a younger, busy household.
Peabody originally came from the Oregon Humane Society with his brother (who dies a couple of years ago) as rescues. They were abandoned by their previous owner. Peabody is a bit skittish, but will warm up to a person over time. He is about 10 or 11 years old and would do well in a low key home preferably with an older adult. We don't want to have to take him back to the Humane Society and we would really love to see him live out the rest of his life in a loving home where he can have his space and get the loving he deserves.
He is potty trained and can use a litter box and a cat door. He spends most of his time curled up in his favorite box and generally stays out of the way. He doesn't like to be cornered, but does love being scratched and petted by someone he trusts. He is also micro-chipped and we can get that transferred to your name once you take him on.
We are not asking for any compensation, but we would like to know about about you and your lifestyle before we turn him over. Please send any serious inquires through email. Let us know what your living situation is (house, apartment, etc) as well as how many people and other pets are in your home. An ideal match would either be an older person living alone looking for a quiet companion animal or someone living on a large property, such as a farm, that would like a largely outdoor cat (my father lived outside of The Dalles and Peabody loved being outdoors).
